The safety instructions given before, item 6 to 7, are very important, please observe every single item.
Non-observance may cause injuries, machine damage or the warranty may lapse.
9.1 FC-A installation and assembly procedure
The FINE CYCLO reduction assemblies Type FC-A are shipped pre-finished, ready for use.
E v e r y FINE CYCLO reduction assemblies FC-A are filled with grease before the test run. They are
lubricated for life and suitable for any mounting position .
The FINE CYCLO reduction assemblies Type FC-A are shipped without painting.
These reduction assemblies will be shipped without support bearings for slow speed shaft flange. When
installing into the driven machine, please prepare appropriate bearings which have sufficient stiffness.
Connect the FC-A slow speed shaft flange with the output shaft of your machine. Observe the asssem-
bly tolerances acc. to Tab. 1.
Carefully locate the pins protruding from the output flange into the rollers in the reduction portion, ensur-
ing that none of the rollers are displaced or lost. The ring gear housing can then be located in the recess
provided in your output housing.
To secure the output flanges together and the ring gear housing to the output housing, socket head cap
screws of Grade 12.9 according to DIN EN ISO 4762 should be used. The tightening torques for these
screws are given in Tab. 2.
Applications subject to severe vibrations can result in slackening of the screws. To prevent this, we rec-
ommend the use of liquid screwlock (Loctite No. 518 or 573).
To ensure the Cycloid disc retaining ring is trapped by the housing, the inside diameter of the housing
must not exceed "d", acc. to Tab. 1.
To ensure satisfactory operation of the reduction assembly it is essential to maintain all mounting toler-
ances recommended.
During the above mentioned work, absolute cleanliness is essential. The exposed areas of the reduc-
tion portion must be well protected from any contaminent.
