CHECKING THE SPARK PLUG
τnly use the supplied universal wrench to remove or to install the spark plugέ

The gap between the two electrodes of the spark plug should be ίέι – ίέκ mm
●
(ίέίβκ" – ίέίγβ")έ If the gap is too wide or too narrow, adjust itέ If the spark plug
is clogged or contaminated, clean it thoroughly or replace itέ
Place the plug cap properly as illustrated after checkingέ
CAUTIONμ
σever touch the spark plug connector while the engine is running (danger

SUPPLY OF GREASE TO GEAR CASE
Supply grease (Shell Alvania β or equivalent) to the gear case (1) through the

grease hole (β) every βη hoursέ (ύenuine εAKITA grease may be purchased
from your εAKITA dealerέ)
SUPPLY OF GREASE TO THE FLEXIBLE SHAFT
1έ By performing the steps in "ετUσTIσύ τό όδEXIBδE SώAόT" in reverse,
remove the clamps (γ pieces), and disconnect the lead units (β pieces) and
the control cableέ
NOTEμ
Use a slotted screwdriver etcέ for opening the connectorέ

βέ Remove the lexible shaft from the clutch case and the straight shaftέ To
remove the lexible shaft from the clutch case, pull up the knob and remove
itέ To remove the lexible shaft from the straight shaft, remove the bolt and
remove itέ
γέ Pull out the inner shaft (1) from the lexible liner (β), and apply grease (Shell
Alvania β or equivalent) (γ) on the inner shaft for every βη hoursέ (ύenuine
εAKITA grease may be purchased from your εAKITA dealerέ)
ζέ Refer to the steps in "ετUσTIσύ τό όδEXIBδE SώAόT", reassemble the
lexible shaft, control cable, lead units (β pieces), and clamps (γ pieces)έ
NOTICEμ
The lexible shaft may be broken if no grease is appliedέ

όor extending service life of the parts, reinstall each end of the lexible

shaft onto the opposite side, iέeέ formerly engine side onto the control lever
sideέ
