d) Cleaning the solar module
Dust and dirt may accumulate on the solar module (21), which reduces the available current and shortens the battery
life.
Clean the solar module on a regular basis by wiping it with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

e) Cleaning the UV sensor

Dust and dirt that accumulates on the UV sensor (20) may result in inaccurate measurements.
Clean the UV sensor on a regular basis by wiping it with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

f) Firmware updates

New firmware updates can be downloaded from the Conrad website (www.conrad.com). Go to the web
page for your product and select the "Downloads" section.
Alternatively, you can access the latest downloads by visiting www.conrad.com/downloads and entering
the item number.
• The firmware update is usually compressed in zip format ("update.zip"). Unzip the file to an empty USB stick. The
USB stick should only contain the "update" folder and the files required for the update.
The USB stick must be formatted using the FAT/FAT32 file system, otherwise the base station will not
recognize the files (the NTFS file system is not supported).
• Disconnect the base station from the power supply.
• Insert the USB stick into the USB port (7) on the base station.
• Reconnect the base station to the power supply.
• The base station will automatically start the update process when it detects the update file. The LED indicator (5)
will flash red when the base station is updating.
Do not interrupt the update process or press any buttons, as this may damage the base station.
• The base station will restart when the update process is complete. The LED indicator (5) will turn red for 7 seconds
and then turn blue to indicate that the base station is connected to your wireless network.
• Remove the USB stick from the base station.
Important:
The USB port (7) on the base station is used exclusively for firmware updates.
If the update process does not start automatically when you reconnect the base station to the power supply,
press the reset button (6).
The base station settings (e.g. Wi-Fi settings and password) are saved during the update process, and
the base station should automatically reconnect to your home network (indicated by a constant blue LED
indicator (5)). If the base station does not reconnect to your network, follow the steps in section 10. d).
