1. Mix approx. 0.5 litres of vinegar and max. 1.2 litres water. Alternatively mix des-
caler for electrical boilers to get max. 1.7 litres of descaler solution. Pour the desca-
ler solution into the kettle. The solution should cover the lime deposition completely.
Close the lid firmly.
2. Ensure good ventilation in the room and, via the temperature selection buttons, select
60°C. Wait until the kettle switches off automatically. Then unplug, and, for several
hours (overnight), leave the descaling solution in the kettle with the lid firmly closed.
3. Empty the water kettle and rinse with clear tap water thoroughly.
4. Fill with clear tap water to the maximum filling level (1.7 litres / MAX). Using the
ON/OFF button, bring the water to the boil. Then discard the hot water. Rinse
again with clear tap water.
5. If you notice still some smell of descaler within the kettle, repeat step 4, until the smell
has vanished. Thereafter, the water kettle is ready for normal use again.
STORAGE
WARNING:
Always switch OFF and unplug the appliance before storing to avoid
hazards due to overheating, fire, and electricity.
Before storage, empty the kettle completely and clean the appliance (see: 'Care and
Cleaning'). If you wish to store the appliance for a longer period of time, you should
descale the kettle (see: 'Descaling').
If required, you may wind the power cord loosely around the cord storage at the bottom
of the power base.
Ensure to store the appliance where it is clean, dry and safe from frost, direct sunlight and
inadmissible strain (electric or mechanical shock, fall down/over) and where it is out of
reach of young children. Do not place any hard or heavy objects on or in the appliance
or on the power cord. It is good advice to place the kettle on the power base to protect
the connectors from dust, moisture and damage.
