Options – Seat Tilt Adjustment

Seat Tilt Adjustment

(7.53)
The sideguard must be removed
before adjusting the seat tilt in
order to reach the necessary
screws. Once the collarnuts (1)
and screws (2) on the rear seat
mount have been removed, the
angle at which the seat is tilted can
be adjusted. When the seat is tilted
at the desired angle, screw on the
collars from the outside and
screws from the inside.
Adjusting Seat Height
Adjust the rear seat height as described above. The
front seat mount can be adjusted to the desired
height after removing the screws (3).
Options – Seat Center of Gravity

Seat Center of Gravity

(7.54)
The position of the body's center
of gravity with respect to the rear
wheels is critical for ensuring easy
and pleasant use of the wheelchair.
Several positions are possible:
moving the seat frame (1) forward
along the holes drilled in the frame
(2 through 6) will make the chair
stable, but it will not be as maneu-
verable as it would be if the seat
frame were positioned farther
back. When finished, make sure that
all screws have been properly tightened (see the
page on torque).
CAUTION:
The wheelchair is liable to tip when the quantity
used to measure center of gravity (see picture) is at
its greatest. For reasons of safety, we therefore
recommend that an anti-tip tube be mounted in the
drill hole (6) when assembling the frame; this will
prevent the wheelchair from tipping backwards
when going over larger obstacles or curbs.
Options – Rear Wheels
Rear Wheels
(7.60)
The distance between the rear
wheels and the sideguard can be
adjusted as follows: Loosen the
axle sleeve (1) by loosening the
screws (2). Pull the axle sleeve (1)
out to the desired distance (no
more than 3 cm). To ensure that
the wheel alignment has been pro-
perly adjusted, check to make sure
that the pin can be seen in the
groove. When finished, make sure
that all screws have been properly
tightened (see the page on torque).

Options – Backrest Upholstery
Adjustable Backrest Upholstery
The sling can be adapted to any degree of tension
by adjusting the Velcro fasteners. The padding in
the backrest can be removed through an interior
opening, allowing you to cushion the backrest
according to your individual needs.
Options – Adjustable Backrest Tilt

Adjustable Backrest Tilt

(7.73)
Backrest Tilt
First change the rear height of the sideguard by
removing the screws (1). Regardless of the seat fra-
me position (seat height), the sideguard must be
adjusted to that position in order to prevent the
clothing guard from rubbing against the wheel. Next
adjust the backrest (2) to the desired angle. Several
holes (4) have been drilled into the front portion of
the sideguard (3) to set the backrest at the desired
angle.
Backrest Height
After you have removed the rear screws (1), you can
remove the sideguard. By pulling up on the backrest
frame, you can adjust the height by a total of 5 cm
in 2.5 cm increments. When finished, make sure
that all screws have been properly tightened (see
the page on torque).
CAUTION:
The screws (1) connect the backrest directly to
the frame; screwing them in too tightly may cau-
se them to break. Conversely, screws that are
too loose can be easily lost. In either case, inju-
ries could result when ascending stairs.
For your own safety, we recommend that adjust-
ments only be made by authorized dealers.
Options – Sideguards

Sideguards

(7.84)
The sideguards can be unlocked by pulling up on
the rear cross bar (1). Swinging the backrest (2)
forward will allow it to fold down onto the seat.
CAUTION:
Neither the sideguards nor the armrests are to
be used for lifting or carrying the wheelchair.
