If a voltage exceeding approx. 5...25V is pre-
sent at the test leads the symbols "
and 'Uext' (17) are indicated on the LCD. Ad-
ditionally, an acoustic signal is audible when
starting the test.
Ensure that all loads are disconnected from the
mains during the insulation and that all switch-
es of the system under tests are switched on.
During the test please do not touch the UUT /
or the system under test, danger of an electri-
cal shock is present!
The insulation test causes capacitive UUTs to
be charged by the measurement voltage. The
UNITEST 0100-ELECTROcheck automatically
discharges the UUT upon completion of the
test. If the test is interrupted or if the test leads
are disconnected prior to completion, a dan-
gerous voltage may be present at the UUT. If a
dangerous voltage is detected during the volt-
age measurement, the UUT must be manually
discharged using a high impedance resistor
(not via short-circuit!).
The maximum admissible voltage between the
test connection amounts to 500 V AC/DC con-
tinuous or 600 V AC/DC for 10 seconds! The
maximum admissible voltage of the test con-
nections towards ground amounts to 440 V
AC/DC!
Should extremely high insulation resistors (>
50 MΩ) be connected, the test instrument dis-
plays as result the symbols
(6), even if the fuse is defective.

Connect the black test lead to the black socket
'L/L1' (24) and the blue test lead to the blue sock-
et 'N/L2' (25).
Switch on the UNITEST 0100 ELECTROcheck
using the rotary switch 'Measurement Function'
(19) and set the rotary switch to the measure-
ment function 'insulation resistance'. The test in-
strument displays the following:
Now connect both test leads to the UUT; please
refer to Figure 5.2.3 for connection..
Briefly, press the "Start/On" key (22). The test is
started. During the active test the message
'Test...' (11) is displayed. Please refer to Figure
5.2.4.
