• The reception icon remains lit when reception is successful. If no signal can be received, the
icon will disappear.

d) Manually setting the time
• Press and hold the time button for approx. 2 seconds. The year indicator starts flashing.
• Push the ▲ button to increase the value or the ▼ button to decrease the value. Push and
hold to fast-forward.
• Press the time button to confirm your settings. The next value starts flashing.
• Follow the above steps to make settings in the following order: year > month > day > 12/24-
hour format > hours > minutes > seconds > time deviation (-23 to +23 hours) > language.
The clock will return to display mode if no button is pushed in 30 seconds while in
setting mode.
Pressing and holding the time button for approx. 2 seconds in setting mode will
cause the product to return to normal display mode
When setting the seconds you may reset the value to 00.
The weekday can be displayed in the following languages:

e) Setting the alarm time
• Press and hold the alarm button for approx. 2 seconds. The hour digits start flashing in the
lower left corner of the display.
• Use the ▼/ ▲ button to adjust the hours.
• Push the alarm button to confirm the setting.
• Adjust the minutes and confirm your settings by pressing the alarm button.
Briefly press the alarm button in normal display mode in order to display the alarm
time for approx. 5 seconds in the lower left corner of the display.
f) Activating / deactivating the alarm function
• Slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch to ON position in order to activate the alarm function.
• Slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch to OFF position in order to deactivate the alarm function.
Once activated, the alarm time will appear in the lower left corner of the display
(instead of the date). The bell icon will appear on top of the seconds indicator.
When the alarm function is activated, the alarm will sound every day at the preset
time.
g) Switching off the alarm signal / snooze function
• The alarm signal will turn off automatically after 1 minute.
• Slide the ALARM ON/OFF to OFF position to switch off the alarm signal.
• Press the SNOOZE / LIGHT button to use the snooze function. The alarm will sound again
after 5 minutes.
The snooze function can be repeated up to 4 times. The Zz indicator will be flashing
on top of the bell icon during snooze function.
h) Thermometer
Press and hold the WAVE button for approx. 3 seconds to switch between the temperature
units °C (Celsius) and °F (Fahrenheit).
This function is only available, if the switch for selecting the time signal is at US, UK
or DE position.
i) Transmission frequency (JJY signal)
Press and hold the WAVE button for approx. 3 seconds to switch between 40 kHz and 60 kHz.
This function is only available if the switch or selecting the time signal is at JP
position.
j) Background light
Press the SNOOZE / LIGHT button to turn on the backlight for approx. 5 seconds.

k) Night light
• Slide the night light switch to ON position to activate the night light function. The display will
light up during darkness.
The light sensor is located in the SNOOZE / LIGHT light button. Do not cover this
button, since otherwise the night light will not light up continuously.

• Slide the night light switch to OFF position to deactivate the night light function.
l) 12-hour display mode
In 12 hour display mode, AM or PM is displayed left of the time.
• AM: Midnight till noon 11:59 o'clock
• PM: 12:00 o'clock noon till 23:59 o'clock
m) Daylight saving time
The DST indicator will appear on top of the reception icon during daylight saving time (only
available in case of radio reception).
n) Reset
Press the RESET button using a pointed object to restore the factory settings.

Cleaning and care

• Under no circumstances use aggressive cleanings agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical
solutions since these can penetrate the housing or impair functionality.
• Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
• To prevent scratch marks, do not apply too much force on the surface during cleaning.

Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household
waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with
applicable regulatory guidelines.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used (rechargeable)
batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labeled with this symbol to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals
involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable)
batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our
stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
