NOTICE! Risk of damage. Chemical sub-
stances may attack the plastic parts of the

damp cloth or brush to do this.
Cleaning and maintaining the blade
Tools and aids required (not included)
• Cloth
• Care oil spray
Care after each use
• Remove any green cuttings that are
stuck.
• Clean the grass and shrub shears blade
(14)/(10) with an oily cloth.
• Maintain the grass and shrub shears
blade (14)/(10) with a care oil spray.
Maintenance
• Check the tool before each use for obvi-
ous defects such as loose, worn or dam-
aged parts. Ensure that the screws on the
grass and shrub shears blade (14)/(10) are
firmly in place.
• Check the covers and protective devices
for damage and correct fit. Replace these
if necessary.
• You can carefully smooth out minor nicks
on the cutting edges yourself. To do this,
pull off the cutting edge with an oil stone.
• Sharpen blunt blades if needed (see
Sharpening the blades, p. 30). If the
blades are blunt or have large nicks, the
cutting mechanism may become blocked.
Only sharp blades provide a good cutting
performance.
• Severely damaged or bent blades must
not be used and must be replaced (see
Spare parts and accessories, p. 35).
Sharpening the blades
Notes
• Check the cutting edges. We recommend
regrinding in case of visible scratches,
dents or blunt cutting edges. The cutting
blades must not turn blue – this indicates
overheating.

• Blade up: 45°
• Blade down: 45°
