Connection of accessories and an RMU 40
If RMU 40 is to be connected with SMS 40 or MODBUS 40,
connect the boards in series.

Because there can be different connections for accessories,
you should always read the instructions in the manual for
the accessory that will be installed. RMU 40 should be con-
nected last in the communication loop.

Commissioning
1. Hold the back button in RMU 40 for 7 seconds to access
the menu "service settings".
2. Enter the menu and select which climate system RMU 40
should be connected to.
3. Start the main product, go to menu "system settings"
(5.2) and activate RMU 40 for the climate system you
want to control with the room unit.
4. If you want the main product to use the room sensor to
control the temperature, set this in menu "room sensor
settings" (1.9.4). If an external room sensor (BT50) is
installed, it will be used. Otherwise, the room sensor in
RMU 40 is used.
CAUTION!
The software in the main product must be version
1199 or higher to work with RMU 40.

STAND-BY BUTTON

RMU 40 can be switched to standby mode using the
standby button. The main product's operation is not af-
fected by pressing the button.

BACK BUTTON

The back button is used to:
• go back to the previous menu.
• change a setting that has not been confirmed.

OK BUTTON
The OK button is used to:
• confirm selections of sub menus/options/set values.
E UP AND DOWN BUTTONS
With the up and down buttons you can:
• scroll in menus and between options.
• increase and decrease the values.
