MAINS cONNectION

• This appliance is fitted with an earthing cable and an earthed mains plug.
• The appliance may only be connected to an earthed socket outlet (220-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz) installed
in accordance with applicable regulations. Earthing reduces the electric shock hazard in the event
of a short circuit.
• The mains voltage must comply with the voltage indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.
• The appliance complies with the regulations specified for CE marking.
• Do not use the appliance if the mains cable and/or the plug are damaged.
• The power indicator light comes on as soon as the mains plug has been plugged into the household
socket.
Important information:
We recommend plugging the appliance into a separate socket and avoiding connecting other
consumers to the same line (fuse).

• Remove all packaging materials and check the appliance for any damage. The appliance must not
be used if it is damaged.
• Wash all parts in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse with clean water and dry the parts
thoroughly before placing them back on the appliance.
PleASe NOte: The base of the appliance with the live elements must never be immersed in
water or other liquids - ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD!
• Wipe the base of the appliance using a damp cloth and then dry it carefully.
• Insert the mains plug into a power socket.
• Next heat the appliance with the pans, grill plate and grill stone but without any food for approx. 10
minutes at the maximum temperature (thermostat control to position +). This causes any protective
grease from the production process to evaporate. Some odour and smoke will develop but this is
harmless and will only occur on first use. Ensure that the room is sufficiently ventilated.
• After 10 minutes, turn the thermostat control to "–" before unplugging the appliance to allow it to
cool down.
• The parts that come into contact with food should now be wiped once again with a cloth that has
been moistened slightly as necessary.

IMPORtANt USAge INStRUctIONS

• Only switch the appliance on once the grill plate has been placed on the base of the appliance and
the grill stone or the filled fondue pot has been placed on the heating element.
• The appliance must not be operated for longer than approx. 15 – 20 minutes without containing
any food (content in the fondue pot and/or food to be grilled on the grill plate and pans). The grill
plate's surface could be damaged if operated over a longer period with no content in place.
It is essential therefore that the grill plate is allowed to cool down for at least 20 minutes (room
temperature) before the appliance is used again.
• Frozen food must not be grilled or placed in the fondue pot. Allow the food to defrost beforehand
and pat dry with a kitchen towel before cooking.
• Acidic foods such as pickles, mustard, etc. must not be placed on the grill stone.
