Before first Use
Remove the sanitary pressure test pump out of the packaging and check it for damage in transit. Keep
packaging materials out of reach of children. There is a risk of suffocation.
Screw the pumping lever (1)on the handle shaft (3).
preparation
Prior to start using the sanitary pressure test pump, please carefully read and observe the following
instructions:
Work on tube/pipe systems and pressure vessels as well as on solar systems may only be carried out
by specially trained and approved personnel.
Please read the manual carefully before operating the pressure test pump. The pressure inside the
test pump is extreme high. Always make sure that all pressure connections are tight and connected
properly.
■ Note that the proper function of the test pump depends on the cleanliness of the test medium. So only fill
clean water, oil or glycol (antifreeze) into the tank. Fill at least 1.1 litres and a maximum of 11.5 litres
into the tank. Turn down the securing hook (2) to unlock the pumping lever (1).
Using
1. First connect the hose with the ½" hose connection (8) to the system to be tested.
2. Open the valves or cocks of the test system and use the pumping lever to fill water or oil into the
system. If necessary, fill in large quantities of water (e.g. for newly installed pipes) with a water hose
into the system and then connect the test pump to build the appropriate pressure.
3. Use the pumping lever (1) and pump until the required pressure is reached. The red drag pointer
moves along the black pointer of the pressure gauge (6). Read the pressure that has been reached on
the scale. The pressure gauge has a precision scale with 3 international measuring units (bar, psi and
MPa).
Pressure range in bar: 0 - 60 (1 bar resolution)
Pressure range in psi: 0 - 860 (20 psi resolution)
Pressure range in MPa: 0-6 (0.1 MPa resolution)
Operation
The drag pointer remains at the peak value that has been reached. So you can monitor the drop in
pressure. When needed, the drag pointer can be reset manually by turning it counter clockwise.
4. Close the valve(9) during operation,Then pressurize to the specified test pressure, close valve (4). If
the test pressure accidentally should have been exceeded, slightly open the valve (4)until the desired
pressure is reached. Then close valve(4).
Test pressure, test duration, permitted drop in pressure, and other technical specifications can be
Qathered from the according! standards. Bv all means note the manufacturer's information and ask an
expert in case of any uncertaintv.
5. After the test period when the test for leaks has been carried out, open the valve (4)(9) in order to
empty the test system.
