ATTENTION with automatic aerials and
AIM memory stand-by* !
Hf you switch the car radio off,
the automatic aerial will remain extended for
approx. 2 hours.
\f TIMER has been selected, the automatic
aerial will automatically extend at the pro-
grammed time.
Therefore, before you enter a car wash, for
example: EMERGENCY OFF
With ignition on,
turn rotary knob until > NO AIM < appears
in display and automatic aerial retracts!
The automatic aerial remains retracted until
you switch on the car radio again using the
rotary knob (push).
The AIM settings remain intact.
GRUNDIG Environmental Initiative
You will certainly have noticed,
that we have completely avoided use of plastic
for the packaging of the car radio.

Identity Card
The Identity Card of your car radio contains
its type, serial number and code number (See
illustration at back of manual).
The serial number is identical to the number
embossed onto the car radio.
The Identity Card facilitates criminal investiga-
tion by the police in case of radio theft and
speeds settlement of an insurance claim by
providing evidence of ownership.
Keep the card in a safe place, out of reach of
unauthorised persons.
Installation of the car radio
These operating instructions assume that
your car radio has been correctly connected
and installed by your dealer.
If you wish to install the device yourself,
please be sure to observe the information in
the chapter "installation and removal"
beginning on page 1-28 as well as the illustra-
tions at the beginning of the manual.
Traffic safety
Please familiarise yourself with the various
functions of your car radio before you start to
drive (e.g., how to store a station).
Volume:
Operating your radio at high volume while dri-
ving can endanger you and others. Therefore,
always adjust the volume so that you can still
safely hear outside noises (e.g., car horns,
police and emergency vehicles, etc.).
Aerial
Your car radio is designed for connection to a
75 Q (to 150) aerial (impedance).
Extending the aerial cable, to the rear of the
car, for example, can impair signal reception.
Theft protection
CODE label
llustration at the back of the manual.
The code label, placed on the inside of the car
window for high visibility, shows everyone:
1 0 i
I
thieves!
Coding
If the coding has been activated and the car
radio is disconnected from the car battery (or
permanent pius clamp 30 of your car), itis
electronically blocked.
Only you can place it back into operation by
entering your personal code number (Coding,
page 1-27).
Removing the control panel
In addition to activating coding, you can
remove the control panel of the car radio and
take it with you. This renders the car radio
worthless to thieves.
Security LED display
Memory position
button 3 flashes,
when the car radio, the ignition/starter switch,
and the vehicle lights are switched off.
The security LED display must be switched on
(EXPERT setting, page 1-26: @ Switching the
security LED display On/Off).
Higher flashing frequency with AIM Memory
stand-by (EC 7500 RDS), page 1-22.
Removable control panel
You can remove the contro! panel while the
radio is on.
The radio then switches itself off.
AIM memory standby" is retained.
Removing the contro! panel
Press the
button. The control panel
swings out and you can remove it.
