Inserting the car radio

installed mounting frame b.
The car radio should snap into place.
Removing the car radio

— Remove the control pane! (page 1-18 ).
Insert both removal handles d as far as pos-
sible into the openings in the trim.
- Press both removal handles outward
and slowly pull the radio out.

Important information
Cassettes
Cassettes
are subjected to high temperatures during car
radio operation. Therefore use only high-
quality heat-resistant C 60 and C 90 cassettes
from name-brand manufacturers.
Dolby noise reduction
is manufactured under license from Doiby
Laboratories Licensing Corporation. DOLBY
and the Double D symbol OG are registered
trademards of the Dolby Laboratories Licen-
sing Corporation.
Radio reception conditions
FM reception
Reception conditions change constantly while
you are driving.
Mountains, buildings or bridges can all
disturb reception.
This is particularly true when you are farther
away from the station.
Radio Data System (RDS)
RDS is an
information
system whose signals
are broadcast along with the FM radio station
programme.
Programme service
So that you see what you are listening to!
With RDS programmes, you see the abbrevi-
ated name of the programme in the display,
e.g. >BAYERN 3<
which stands for Bayerischer Rundfunk — Pro-
gramme 3.
Please note that RDS programmes can have
different regional stations and programme
names.
Alternative frequencies
An RDS programme is broadcast by several
stations, each with a different broadcast
frequency (alternative frequencies).
You select an RDS programme and your car
radio always tunes to a station with good
reception that is broadcasting the same RDS
programme.
Enhanced Other Network (EON)
Listen to traffic announcements even if yor
have tuned in an "RDS programme withoat
traffic reports".
In the ranges UI, U Il and U Ill.
Prerequisite
The radio station that is broadcasting you:
selected RDS programme with EON also hs
an additional RDS programme which offes
traffic announcements.
Announcement stand-by
for traffic announcements even with
"RDS programmes without traffic announe-
ments", if GB) button is "activated".
>TP< is in display and
the selected RDS programme remains
audible.
Switching TP on/off:
Press (TF button until signal sounds.
