Alternative frequencies (AF)
>AF< is in display:
You are receiving an RDS programme that is
being broadcast by several stations (Alternati-
ve frequencies, see page 1-29).
button "activated":
Your car radio will always tune to a station
with good reception that is broadcasting the
same RDS programme.
Switching AF off:
if you are in an area with poor reception and
the car radio "continually and disruptively"
switches between a number of AF's.
Briefly press (AE) button:
button "no longer activated".
>AF< remains in display.

Manual frequency tuning
1.Select range: Ut, U Hl, U I, MorL.
2.Press button until signal sounds.
3.Use rotary knob (turn) to set >MAN ...<in
display.
4 Briefly press button:
Display colour changes.
5.Use rotary knob (turn) to set >MAN ON<
in display.
6.Press button until signal sounds.
7.Set frequency:
Press button or =) button briefly
or longer; ¢.9.,
>MAN 92.7< is in display.
Please note
Frequency display in U |, U It and U Ill ranges
is in 0.1-MHz increments (100 kHz).
Frequency alteration by pressing the buttons
is more sensitive (50 kHz).
8.Exiting the MAN function:
For example, press one of the memory
positions CL} to GI, press button
or autom. after approx. 60 seconds.
Memory positions CI@IGIGIGI
Select range: UI, U il, UII, Mor L.
Tuning station/RDS programme:
If the tuned station/RDS programme in the
selected range, e.g. > U I<, is already stored
at a memory position, the respective number
is "activated".
Storing:
Press memory position until signal sounds.
If "AF switched off" (Alternative frequencies,
page 1-22), this is also stored.
Retrieval:
Briefly press memory position.
The stored memory of the memory positions
remains intact even if the supply voltage is
disconnected.

You will hear only traffic announcements if
you set the volume to "zero".
Cassette or CD operation stops during the
traffic announcement.

Storing traffic announcements

AIM function
You can automatically store traffic announce-
ments from the selected traffic radio station:
— while the car radio is on.
— after switching the car radio off:
2 hours of memory stand-by.
— with TIMER selection, e.g., every morning at
the same time, or before beginning a trip:
2 hours of memory stand-by per TIMER.

Setting current time
In order that you know from when a stored
traffic announcement is, and for the TIMER
preselection to function, "Current time" must
be set (page 1-25: @/@).
AIM memory capacity
~ normal recording quality: approx. 6 mins.
— better recording quality: approx. 4 mins.
