14. Troubleshooting

The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your product failing to
work properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.
Important note in the case of repairs:
When returning the product for repair, for safety reasons, ensure that it is free of oil and fuel when it is sent to the
service centre.
Fault
The device does not start up.
The device starts up but does
not have full power.
The engine runs erratically.
The engine smokes excessively. Incorrect fuel mixture
The engine runs hot.

Possible cause

Incorrect start-up procedure
Sooty or damp spark plug
Incorrect carburettor setting
Cutting edge or thread coil incorrectly
fitted
No fuel in the tank
Incorrect choke lever setting
Contaminated air filter
Incorrect carburettor setting
Cutting blades blunt
Wrong spark plug electrode gap

Remedy
Follow the instructions for starting
Clean or replace the spark plug with
a new one
Contact authorised customer service
Fit the cutting edge or thread coil
again
Check the fuel level
Close the choke lever
Clean the air filter
Contact authorised customer service
Sharpen or replace the cutting blade
Clean spark plug and adjust electrode
gap or fit new spark plug
