the earphone,to the sound as it is being re-
corded. If it is necessaryto adjust the volume level
of the soundbeingmonitored, d o so by usingthe
volume/VAS level control.
Notes:
•Do not adjustthe volume/VASlevel control
duringrecording w iththeVASfunction. O th-
erwise, the VAS level once set would be
changed.
•The sound recorded through the built-in or
external microphonecannot be monitored
through the speaker.
•Avoid listeningfor prolongedperiodsof time
to prevent hearing damage.

•If the head assembly is extremely dirty, clean it
with a cotton swab dampened with a little al-
cohol.
•Do not bringanytype of metalobjectsor tools
such as magneticscrewdriversin contactwith
the head assembly.
•Do not clean the plastic cabinet with benzine or
thinner. Clean it with a cloth, dampenedin a mild
solution of soap and water. Avoid excessive
moisture.
•Avoid spray-type insecticides. Some insecti-
cides contain chemicals that cause cabinet de-
formation.
