Sound level equalizer function
Sound level equalizer improves microphone re-
cording in remote locations, away from the
source. This is helpful in class and conference
rooms.
To activate, set the tone/sound level equalizer
switch to the "HIGH/ON"
position.
The sound level equalizer indicator will illuminate.

VAS function
When recording using the VAS recording (voice
activated system recording), the sound is re-
corded automatically, so there is no tape waste.

Insert

2. Set the VASIpause switch to the "VASION"
position.
3. Set the tone/sound
level. equalizer
to the "HIGH/ON" position when using the
sound level equalizer function.

built-in or external microphone and when no
sound is picked up, the tape stops running
automatically (about 4 seconds later).

ply pressing the record button.
Note:
Be careful not to press the record button dur-
ing playback, unless you intend to make a
recording.Activating the recordbuttonwill au-
tomaticallyerasethe soundson the portionof
the tape.
Pause
switch
TheVAS/pause switchcanbeusedto temporarily
stopthetapemoving.Beforebeginning recording,
first set the VAS/pause switch to "PAUSE ON",
then press the record button. (The tape will not
move.) When ready to record, set the VAS/pause
switch to "OFF". This will start tape movement for
immediate
recording.
Note:
Do not use the pause switch to stop the tape
for a longperiodof time.Theunitis notturned
off unless the stop button is pressed. Always
use the stop button to turn the unit off.
Quick
review
To listen to the sound you have recorded, press
and hold the rewind/review button. This will rewind
the tape.Whenyouremoveyourfinger,thesound
you recorded will be heard.
Erasure of recording
When recording, previously recorded signals on
the tape will be erased automatically.
