Fast
forward
and
rewind
The tape will move rapidly forward when the fast
forward/cue button is pressed.
The tape will rewind rapidly when the rewind/re-
view button is pressed.
Note:
When the tape reaches the end by pressing
the fast
forward/cue
button
or rewind/review
button, the automatic stop system does not
function. The tape will stop, but as the motor
continues
to turn, do not leave the set in this
condition.
Be sure to press the stop button.
Cue
and review
If the fast forward/cue (or rewind/review) button is
partially pressed during playback, the recorded
sound
on the tape can be monitored
at a fast
speed. When the button is released, playback will
resume.

Tape counter and reset button
The digits return to "000" when the reset button is
pressed. The digits advance with the tape to pro-
vide a reference to quickly find a desired portion of
the tape.
Note:
To reset the tape counter, be sure to press the
reset button completely. Otherwise, the tape
counter may not operate correctly.
Tape speed control
(for playback
only)
Using the tape speed control, the playback speed
can be changed; you can make the speed slower
to playback a part difficult to catch and faster to
playback an unimportant part. It is useful to play-
back a tape which contains a conference or a
lecture recording.
When
it is set to the center click position
(with
white mark), the tape is played back with a stand-
ard speed.
RECORDING
Use normal type of cassette tape only.
This unit has an automatic level control system
(the recordinglevel is automatically a djusted).
Make sure to use a cassettewith recordingtabs in
place.
Your attention is drawn to the fact that recording
pre-recorded tapes or discs onotherpublished o r
broadcast material may infringecopyright laws.
Recording through the built-in micro-
phone
The built-in condenser microphone in this unit is
omnidirectional(all directions), so that recordingis
available in every direction.
