11.4 Configuring via the camera menu

Putting the slide switch to the "TEST" position enables you to configure the camera completely. From this mode, you
can also view photos and play videos in the gallery.
Set the camera's on/off slide switch to the "TEST" position (if not already done).

To configure the camera from the menu using the buttons, proceed as follows:
Choose your language first. Press the "MENU" button (14) to open the configuration menu. Using the down arrow

button (18), scroll down to the "Language" menu item and then press the "OK" button (15). Select your language
using the up arrow button (17) or down arrow button (18) and confirm your selection by pressing the "OK" button
(15).
All configuration items are basically set in the same way as the language. If an item requires a time setting or
similar after it has been activated, this setting will appear immediately after activation.
Now you should format the SD memory card first if you are using it for the first time.

Using the down arrow button (18), scroll down to the "Memory Card Format" menu item and then press the "OK"
button (15). Using the arrow buttons, select "Yes" and confirm your selection by pressing the "OK" button (15).
We now recommend that you set the date and time format.

Using the arrow buttons, navigate to the "Date Format" menu item and open it by pressing the "OK" button (15).
Select the desired format and press the "OK" button (15) again to confirm.
Do the same for the time format. The menu item is called "Time Format".
Once you have done this, set the date and time.

Using the arrow buttons, navigate to the "Date & Time" menu item and open it by pressing the "OK" button (15).
Change the respective value (e.g. month) using the up arrow button (17) or down arrow button (18). Press the
"SHOT" button (19) to move to the next menu item. Once you have adjusted the last setting, press the "OK" button
(15) to save changes.
Now select the mode you want to use.

Using the arrow buttons, navigate to the "Mode" menu item and open it by pressing the "OK" button (15). Select
the mode you wish to use and press the "OK" button (15) to save changes. Detailed information about the various
modes can be found in Chapter 11.3.1 "Mode" above.
From the "Photo or Video" menu item, select whether you want to take photos, videos or photos and videos. See

Chapter 11.3.3 "Photo or Video" for more information.
You can now select the resolution or quality for the photos and videos from the menu item "Photo resolution" or

"Video resolution". For more information, please refer to Chapter 11.3.4 "Photo resolution" and Chapter 11.3.5
"Video resolution".
If you want to record videos, you should also set the maximum duration of videos ("Video Length" menu item).

See Chapter 11.3.7 "Video Length" for details.
You can now modify all other settings as you wish. You can find a description of all menu items and setting options

in the previous chapters ("Menu overview with the default settings" and "Explanation of the most important menu
items").
Once you are done with all the menu settings, press the "MENU" button (14) to close the configuration menu.

Then select whether you want to operate the camera in Photo or Video mode. Photo mode is the default setting.

To switch to Video mode, press the up arrow button (17) in Camera mode (when the camera display is switched
on). The video camera symbol appears at the top left of the display.
To switch back to Photo mode, press the down arrow button (18) in Camera mode. The photo camera symbol
appears at the top left of the display.
