Do not insert the battery until the battery-powered tool
is ready for use.
Inserting the battery
1. Push the battery (15) into the battery mount (9). The
battery (15) clicks into place audibly.
Removing the battery
1. Press the unlock button (16) of the battery (15) and
remove it from the battery mount (9).

Charge level indicator on the main
switch (8) (Fig. 5)
The charge level of the battery (15) is indicated during op-
eration by the corresponding LED lights of the charge lev-
el indicator on the main switch (8) lighting up.

Operation
ATTENTION
Always make sure the product is fully assembled
before commissioning!
ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50°C and does not fall below -20°C during work.
ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V IXES series and may on-
ly be operated with batteries of this series. Batteries
may only be charged with battery chargers of this se-
ries. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.

If the product is jammed, do not try to pull the product
out by using force.

9.1.1
Front and rear hand guards (1, 10)
(Fig. 1)
• The front hand guard (1) and the rear hand guard (10)
protect the fingers from injuries caused by contact
with the saw chain (11) if it breaks due to overloading.
• The rear hand guard (10) also protects the hand from
branches and twigs.
• Before each start-up, check the functionality of the
front handle guard (1). Keep front and rear hand
guard (1, 10) clean to ensure proper functioning.
9.2
Switching the product on/off and
operating it (Fig. 1, 4-7)
Switching on
1. Check that there is saw chain oil in the oil tank (17).
2. Fill in saw chain oil before the oil tank (17) is empty,
as described under 8.3.
3. Pull the blade and chain guard (18) off the chainsaw
guide bar (12).
4. Hold the front handle (4) with your right hand and the
rear handle (7) with your left hand. Thumb and fingers
must firmly grasp the handles (4, 7).
5. Bring your body and arms into a position in which you
can absorb the kickback forces.
6. Press the main switch (8) until the LEDs light up.
7. Press the switch-on lock (5) on the front handle (4)
with your thumb.
8. Press and hold the switch lock (5).
9. To switch on the product, push the on/off switch (6).
10. Release the switch lock (5).
Note:
It is not necessary to keep the switch lock pressed after
starting the product. The switch lock is intended to pre-
vent accidental starting of the product.
Switching off
1. To switch it off, simply release the on/off switch (6).
2. Put on the supplied guide bar and chain guard (18) af-
ter each instance of working with the product.
Note:
The product switches off after 1 min. for safety reasons.
9.3
Overload protection
In the event of overloading, the battery will switch itself
off. After a cool-down period (time varies), the product
can be switched back on again.
