Mainmenu
The menu structure is called up via the menu key [3] and
the desired function is selected via the "Soft Keys" [5].
The previous menu selection can be recalled by pressing
the "Prev" key [6]. The recall to the main menu is
possible by the "ESC" key [11]. Since in some menus
not all possible functions can be selected via four keys,
another menu level can be reached via the "→ → → → → " symbol.
The ESC key [11] makes it possible to delete a selected
function or to take back erroneous inputs. The exception
to this is that the sweep-menu can be exit only by
pressing the SWP [8] key once again.
Parameter Input
All function parameters can be adjusted fast and precisely
by use of the rotary control and the decade keys. The
Subject to change without notice
selection of the desired waveshape is made by use of
the four keys: FREQ. AMPL. OFFS. and SWP located
below the rotary control. The activated function will be
indicated by a LED. The sweep parameters are set the
same way, except that the selection is made via the
sweep menu.
After selecting a function via the signal parameter keys
[10], the selected function value can be varied via the
front panel keypad, the cursor keys within the menu
structure [5] or by the rotary control.
In the above referenced example, the signal frequency
is 1.2345678 kHz. The cursor indicates the 10Hz position.
This means moving the rotary control the signal frequency
is increased or decreased in 10 Hz steps depending upon
the rotation direction (CW or CCW). The same can be
obtained by the -Val or +Val menu keys. The cursor
changes its position by means of the
left or to the right. This changes the step size for the
rotary dial.
By use of the key pad units Hz, kHz or MHz, the selected
numeric value will be actuated. If the ESC key is used
each selected value can be canceled. If unacceptable
values are selected an audible beep is heard (in case the
beeper is activated) and the value prior to the changes
will remain active.
The Main Menu
The above picture shows the initial menu on Power on.
The selected signal frequency is indicated and the
selection of the functions "sine", "triangle", "square"
as well as other signal functions via "→ → → → → " is possible.
This menu is canceled when either the functions Freq,
Ampl, Offs or Swp [8] are selected or the menu key "→ → → → → "
is pressed for the following menu step.
Frequency
By selecting "FREQ" [8] the signal frequency is adjustable
via the key pad or the rotary control. The selection is
made as discussed in the section on "Parameter-Input".
