7.0 Maintenance
The condition and type of oil are extremely important for achieving
the best possible vacuum. We recommend using only high
performance REFCO vacuum pump oil (DV-44/DV-45/DV-46/DV-
48).
This oil has been specially produced to ensure optimum viscosity at
normal temperatures as well as in cold weather.
This must be replaced after 20 operating hours at the latest or after
heavy soiling (dark or cloudy oil).
The oil must also be changed after the extraction of contaminated
refrigerants. Moisture/water in particular, which remains in the
rechargeable battery-powered vacuum pump until the next use,
can lead to damage due to corrosion.
During repair and maintenance work where persons
could be endangered by moving or live parts, the
rechargeable battery-powered vacuum pump must be
secured by removing the rechargeable battery. Non-
observance or improper electrical connections can lead
to electric shocks.
Take care when touching the rechargeable battery-
powered vacuum pump. High surface temperatures can
be reached. There is a risk of burns.
Contaminated oil can damage the rechargeable battery-
powered vacuum pump.
