These instructions for use are general instructions for the product described and do not replace user training.
Intensive instruction and practice are essential for the use and maintenance of the descender device, and the
user must be physically and mentally fit. Inadequate training, incorrect use or misuse of the product can lead to
accidents. The instructions for use and the information and instructions contained therein must be carefully
observed and complied with.
Foreword
The strengths of Mittelmann Sicherheitstechnik and its application partners were brought together for the
development of the adjustable working rope. This allowed development expertise for special rescue equipment
to be combined with industry-specific requirements and ideas from the wind energy sector.
During the development period, the abseiling device was tested on wind turbines during ongoing training
operations with application partners and continuously developed further.
The product has three application options that have been tested to the following standards:
DIN EN 358:2019 (Chapter 1)

DIN EN 795:2012 Type B (2 persons) (Chapter 2)
•
DIN EN 354:2010 (Chapter 3)

User training

The operating personnel must be sufficiently trained and familiarised with the use of the product before using it
for the first time. In addition, repeated familiarisation with these instructions for use is necessary during the
introduction and subsequent further training.
The training course must be strictly documented and repeated at least once a year. The type, scope and date
of the training course must be recorded chronologically.
