2. EN 795 Type B
2.1 General application
The anchor device is part of the personal protective equipment against falls from a height. It is used as an
anchor point type B in accordance with DIN EN 795. The anchor device must not be used with load lifting
equipment. The anchor rope consists of a Mittelmann S12KM kernmantle rope (Ø 12 mm) with two sewn rope
ends (1x eye and 1x large loop) and optionally with or without a protective sleeve. The equipment may only be
used with a harness in accordance with EN 361. With fall arrest systems, it is essential that the necessary
clearance is ensured at the workplace below the user before each use so that no impact with the ground or
another obstacle is possible in the event of a fall. The anchor rope can also be looped around structural
installations with an edge radius of at least r = 0.5 mm without a protective sleeve.
2.2 Utilisation
The product is placed over a suitable support element for use as an anchorage point. The PPE to be used can
now be attached to the anchorage device. To do this, hook the energy absorber or snap hook into both loops of
the anchor rope. Alternatively, the anchor rope can also be placed over a suitable load-bearing element and
one end of the rope with the smaller eye is passed through the larger loop and pulled taut. The anchor rope is
tested in accordance with DIN EN 795:2012 as a type B anchor point and is intended for use by a maximum of
two people. If the anchorage device is used as part of a fall arrest system, the user must be equipped with a
means of limiting the maximum dynamic forces acting on the user during a fall arrest operation to a maximum
of 6 kN. The anchorage point must guarantee a minimum load-bearing capacity of 10 kN in accordance with
EN795 and must be located above the user. For safety reasons, it is essential to select the position of the
anchorage device and the type of work design in such a way that the free fall and the fall height are minimised.
When determining the required clearance below the user, it must be ensured that the anchorage point can
move due to the flexible rope. Lanyards with energy absorbers must be attached in such a way that the function
of the energy absorber is not impaired. Protect ropes and webbing from sharp-edged objects, welding sparks,
chemicals or other destructive or damaging hazards. Familiarise yourself with the function before first use.
Before and during use, consider how any necessary rescue measures can be carried out safely, quickly and
effectively. The anchor device may only be used by trained and/or otherwise competent personnel. The anchor
device may only be used within the specified operating conditions and for the intended purpose. A rescue plan
must be available that takes into account all possible emergencies that may occur during work. Health
restrictions, e.g. cardiovascular problems, medication or similar, can impair the safety of the user when working
at height. When combining pieces of equipment to form a system, always ensure that the functions of the
individual pieces of equipment are not impaired. If the anchor device is resold to another country, the reseller
must provide instructions for use, maintenance and regular inspection in the language of the other country.
