METER/MESSCOMPUTER/UNITE DE COMPTEURS
PANNELLO ELETTRONICO/MATARE/MITTARI
I) DISPLAYS:
— TIME: counts time elapsed from
| zero up or preset time down to
zero
— STROKES: counts strokes rowed
up from zero or preset number of
strokes down to zero
— CAL/MIN:
shows
calories
con-
sumed per minute (see CALORIE
DISPLAY)
— CALORIES:
shows total calorie
consumption (max 9999 cal)
— SPEED: shows bar diagram display
of rowing speed (max. 60 strokes/
min)
|
NB. The sticker on the frame on the
right-hand side of the meter shows
the most usual rowing speed ranges —
ordinary exercisers 20—25 strokes/
min, active exercisers 25 — 35 strokes/
min — and instructs you how to keep
in condition: row 3 times a week, at
least 15—20 minutes at a time.
2) CALORIE
DISPLAY
(see dia-
gram I)
In theory, calorie consumption is af-
fected only by resistance and length of
stroke. As capacity to produce en-
ergy, or performance, varies in differ-
ent people, the calorie display can
only give a rough estimate of calorie
consumption.
In the R 505, the LOAD mode gives
calorie consumption for a rower of a
certain
height. The
recommended
LOAD values given below are based
on the average energy consumption
of test subjects of different heights at
different load levels (see position of
the load adjustment knob).
Example: A 175 cm tall person is re-
commended to row at the following
LOAD
settings
at different
load
levels:
|
base load 2.4
I 3.1
II 3.9
III 4.5
HII 5.0
3) AUDIBLE SIGNALS
— signal synchronizing with preset
tempo, e.g.:
setting 2 = 30 strokes/min
setting 3 — 20 strokes/min
setting 4 = 15 strokes/min
— signal lasting a few seconds on
completion of a preset rowing time
or number of strokes
4) KEYS
ON/OFF: Switches power on/off.
— when power is on, all displays re-
main on the screen for 3 sec and an
audible signal is given
— all settings except LOAD are at
zero
START/STOP: Switches from START
to STOP mode (when the START
mode is on, the STOP signal goes off
the screen)
— when in the START mode, time,
strokes and calorie consumption
can be counted
— STOP mode interrupts counting;
the values are stored in the mem-
ory until the RESET key is pressed
MODE:
Alternates modes and dis-
plays.
— N.B. LOAD and TEMPO cannot be
used when in the START mode (for
these displays switch to STOP)
— for SCAN or automatic alter-
nation of displays at 5 sec in-
tervals: when in START mode,
press
MODE
key for 2 sec
(SCAN signal appears on screen)
SET: Presets required values (when in
STOP mode)
— pressing SET key continuously runs
* numbers forward fast
RESET: Returns numbers on display
to zero.
— pressing
RESET
automatically
switches to STOP mode
— pressing continuously for 2 sec re-
turns all modes to zero (except
LOAD)
5) SETTINGS:
— time
0:00 — 99:00 (in steps of |
min)
— strokes 0 — 9990 (in steps of 10
strokes)
— tempo
0.000 — 9.875 (in steps of
0.125)
— load
1.0 — 6.6 (in steps of 0.1),
see CALORIE DISPLAY
6) HOW TO SET; e.g. strokes
I. switch on power by pressing ON/
OFF key
2. press
MODE
key until arrow
points to STROKES display
3. preset desired number of strokes
by pressing SET key (STROKE SET
sign (((- appears on screen)
4. start
countdown
by
pressing
START/STOP
key
(remaining
number of strokes displayed)
I) ANZEIGE:
— TIME:
abgelaufene
Trainingszeit
oder Countdown
— STROKES:

Züge
oder Countdown der vorprogram-
mierten Zugzahl

— CAL/MIN: Kalorienverbrauch/min
s. auch Kalorienanzeige)
— CALORIES: verbrauchte Kalorien
(max. 9999 cal)
— SPEED:
semigraphische
Darstel-
lung
der
Rudergeschwindigkeit
(max. 60 Züge/min)
Trainingshilfe: Der Aufkleber rechts
vom Messcomputer gibt die gängig-
sten Geschwindigkeitsbereiche
(für
den Breitensportler 20-25 Züge/min
und für den Ruderwettkämpfer 25—
35 Züge/min) sowie einen Hinweis
über
die
Trainingsfrequenz
und
-dauer: Zur Aufrechterhaltung der
Kondition sollte man wöchentlich 3
mal mindestens 15-20 min auf einmal
rudern.
2) KALORIENANZEIGE:
Zwar
hängt der Kalorienverbrauch
des Trainierenden im Prinzip lediglich
von Rudergeschwindigkeit und Zu-
glänge ab, doch die Fähigkeit Energie
zu produzieren eine ganz individuelle
Sache ist, kann die Anzeige der ver-
brauchten
Kalorien
stets
nur
ein
Richtwert sein. Durch Verwendung
der LOAD-Funktion (Belastung) wird
der Kalorienverbrauch eines Trainie-
renden von bestimmter Körpergrös-
se
berechnet.
Der
einzustellende
LOAD-Faktor beruht auf Erfahrungs-
werten mit Testpersonen unter je-
weiliger Belastung (vgl. Drehknopf-
stellung).
Bei einer Körpergrösse von 1,75 m
wird unter jeweiliger Drehknopfstel-
lung eine Einstellung des LOAD-Fak-
tors auf folgende Werte empfohlen:
