Switching on and controlling
the temperature
FIRE HAZARD!
If fat or oil catches fire, it must never be
extinguished with water, because this
would lead to a fat explosion. Stifle the
fire by placing the lid on the pan or with
a fire blanket or woollen blanket.
Always keep an eye on the electric pan
during operation. You will thus be able
to detect possible problems early on
due to unusual smells or noises.
DANGER! Risk of injury
through burning!
Avoid any contact with the hot oil or
any splashes.
The lid and the pan become very hot
during operation. During operation,
only touch the handles and control ele-
ments of the device.
During the cooking process, hot steam
can escape from the opening in the
lid 1. Be careful not to put your hands
into the steam.
Hot steam may escape when the lid is
removed. Please use potholders. Keep
your face and hands well away.
1. Rub the pan with a little cooking oil be-
fore use.
2. To switch the device on, turn the thermo-
stat control 9 to the desired temperature
setting. The temperature control light 10
is lit while the device heats up.
3. The temperature control light 10 goes off
when the pan 7 has reached the select-
ed temperature. Now you can start to
prepare the food.
4. When preparing the food, make sure to use
only cutlery made of wood or heat-resistant
plastic. Cutlery made of metal can damage
the coated surface of the electric pan.
5. Put the lid 3 on if you heat up food that
splashes (e.g. oil) or if you want to heat
up food at a low temperature.
6. During the preparation of the food, reg-
ulate the temperature as required with
the thermostat control 9.
The temperature settings
In the following table you will find an over-
view of the temperature settings with the tem-
perature and application ranges. These
values can provide you with a rough guide.
When choosing the temperature setting you
should also take into account the cooking
method (e.g. frying, stewing, braising), the
food being cooked and your personal taste.
