WARNING
On VF1 TD variants, the horizontal glass hatch is heavy and may cause
serious injury if it is let fall open freely. Opening the horizontal front glass
for cleaning or other maintenance work requires a minimum of three
trained operators.
WARNING
Do not use any cleaning products that contain chlorine. Chlorine may
cause corrosion of the evaporator fins, and dried residual chlorine may
pose a food safety risk.
2. Dry the surfaces carefully.
1.14. Electrical connections
NOTE
The symbol marked on the cabinet (a lightning bolt inside a triangle) indicates
that there are components and wires under the cover containing live voltage.
Only personnel qualified to install and service electrical equipment are
permitted access to areas that contain live voltage.
Cabinets without an integrated machinery unit are wired to the electricity supply network by
means of a permanent connection.
Cabinets with an integrated machinery unit operate on single-phase AC current at 230 V/50 Hz
voltage. The electrical socket must be earthed and the circuit must be provided with either a
10 A slow fuse or a 16 A slow fuse. Check the rating plate (see figure page 3, figure A1/A2) to
determine which fuse size applies. Other equipment must not be connected to the same fuse.
The electrical connections for the cabinet are shown in the wiring diagram in the plastic wallet
attached to the side of the electrical terminal box. Always replace the wiring diagram after use.
For more information on the location of the rating plates and wiring diagrams, see figure pages
1-5 in the beginning of this manual.
WARNING
All electrical connections must be carried out by approved and qualified
personnel and comply with all IEE and local regulations, failure to do this could
result in personal or fatal injury.
3. Operation
1.15. Start-up
Display cabinets are designed for remote installation. The company that installs the cabinet/
refrigeration equipment must provide adequate training and instructions on the operation and
location of power supply and service switches needed when carrying out normal cleaning.
The expansion valves in the cabinets must be set to the correct value before starting up the
cabinets. The set values for the thermostats in the cabinets should be checked with a separate
and accurate thermometer.
NOTE
For cabinets with an integrated machinery unit, the cooling equipment -
compressor, condenser and electrical equipment - is located in the
machinery compartment on the right-hand side of the cabinet as viewed
from the service side. The cooling equipment starts when the electrical plug
is inserted into the wall socket.
