Hedge trimming (Fig. 8)
• Cut the sides of the hedges first (from bottom to top)
and then the top.
• Cut the sides of the hedges such that the hedge is
slightly narrower at the top.
• Use a handsaw or secateurs to cut thicker branches.
• Both the shrub trimming blade (1) and the grass trim-
ming blade (10) can be used for hedge trimming.

Cutting grass and shrubs (Fig. 9)
• When cutting long grass, work gradually from the
top and make small cuts.
• For best results, cut only dry grass.
• Keep the tool away from solid objects to protect the
blades from excessive wear.
• The grass cutting blade (10) is also suitable for cut-
ting shrubs.
10. Working instructions
10.1 General working notes
• Keep all body parts away from the cutting blade. Do
not attempt to remove cuttings or hold material to
be cut while the blade is running. Remove trapped
cuttings only when the device is switched off. A mo-
ment of carelessness when using the grass/hedge
trimmer can result in serious injury.
• Carry the grass/hedge trimmer by the handle with
the blade stationary. Always put the protective cover
on when transporting or storing the hedge trimmer.
Careful handling of the device reduces the risk of in-
jury from the blade.
• Only hold the electric tool by the insulated gripping
surfaces, because the cutting blade can come in-
to contact with concealed power lines. If the cutting
blade comes into contact with an energised line,
device parts can become energised and cause an
electric shock.
• Make sure that you always stand on firm, level sur-
faces. It is not permitted to work with the device on
ladders or other unstable surfaces.
• Before use, make sure that the locking devices of
any moving parts are in the locked position.
• Make sure to remove any foreign objects from the
hedges (e.g. wire), since it may damage the cutting
unit of the hedge trimmer.
• Attention! The blades are still running! Do not stop
the blades with your hand.

The electrical motor installed is connected and
ready for operation. The connection complies
with the applicable VDE and DIN provisions. The
customer's mains connection as well as the ex-
tension cable used must also comply with these
regulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of-
ten damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Pressure points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been improp-
erly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the
wall outlet.
• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation
damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly. Ensure that the connection cables are dis-
connected from electrical power when checking for
damage.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the ap-
plicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use connection
cables of the same designation
The printing of the type designation on the connection
cable is mandatory.
