Small rooms with a width of less than 1 m
and a length of maximum 2 m: Centre of
the room ceiling
Corridors with a maximum width of 3 m:
Minimum distance of 15 m between two smoke de-
tectors. Max. 7.5 m to the front and smoke detec-
tors in all corners / junctions between corridors.
Balconies: Additional smoke detectors are to be
provided beneath balconies with an edge length of
over 2 x 2 m and a total area of over 16 m².
Roof slopes: Slopes > 20 °: at least 50 cm / not
exceeding 1 m distance to the highest point. The
provisions for flat roofs apply for a slope of ≤ 20 °.
Flat roof with slope: The provisions for roof
slopes apply if the width proportion is ≤ 1 m of the
flat part. The provisions for flat roofs apply if the
width proportion is > 1 m of the flat part.
Ceiling beams (or similar): Height ≤ 20 cm:
Installation on the ceiling or a beam. Height >
20 cm and separate area > 36 m² => additional
smoke detectors between ceiling beams.
