13. Ratches function of the throttle stick
When radio control systems leave the factory, all the
control sticks are set so that they automatically return
to their neutral positions (centre of stick travel) when
they are released. However, this neutral function is
not required for either the control of an electric-powe-
red aircraft's drive motor or the setting of a boat's
sails, since it would involve the pilot's having to keep
hold of the stick. The ratchet spring (Order No.
F1545) may be fitted to deactivate the neutral func-
tion.
