The right-hand button takes you to activation of the weather entry. Use one of the two middle
buttons to choose whether the weather entry should be active or inactive in the welding parame-
ters, and confirm the selection with the right-hand button. The selection is on a dark background.
If the weather entry is activated, when entering the welding parameters, a selection is required
to be able to start welding.

Starting heat coil welding with the ROFUSE TURBO S
After turning on the heat coil welding device with the green rocker switch on the left side of the
housing, welding parameter entry can begin. Please note that entry of the welding parameters
must be done according to the preset selection in the "Parameters" menu. Otherwise the weld-
ing parameter entry cannot proceed and welding will not start. The welding parameter entries
must always be read in with a hand scanner or manually entered on the operating panel. We
recommend reading in with a hand scanner, because this reduces the possibility of a false entry.
Only selected welding parameters appear in the welding protocol. Therefore, before the welding
process, check which data in the welding protocol the customer requires and activate them ac-
cordingly!
Welding parameter entry starts with pressing the right-hand button ▶ under the display. If
the welder code is activated in the "Parameters" menu, the code must either be entered
manually as a valid numeric code or read in with the included hand scanner. Entering letters
is not possible with the welder code activated.
If the welder code is deactivated in the "Parameters" menu, entering letters and numbers is
allowed during manual entry of the "welder name", or this entry can be skipped using the
right-hand button ▶.
To enter a name, press the second button from the left ▲, and enter the welder's name or
code with the two middle buttons ▲▼, and confirm using the right-hand button ▶.
When entering the construction site name, the procedure is the same as entering the weld-
er's name. Either scan a barcode with the hand scanner or choose manual entry with the
second button ▲ from the left to enter the name of the construction site using the two middle
buttons ▲▼, and confirm with the right-hand button ▶. If no name is to be entered for the
construction site, pressing the right-hand button ▶ will skip you to the next entry menu.
If the sleeve traceability is activated in the "Parameters" menu item, it must be either read in
with a hand scanner or entered manually.
The same applies to pipe traceability.
After that, the sleeve's welding code must be entered. As with all other entries, either read in
with a hand scanner or enter manually on the operating panel.
In the next step, the machining of pipes required in accordance with DVS 2207-1 must be
checked and confirmed with the right-hand button ▶.
Then the plugs of the ROFUSE TURBO S must be inserted into the contacts of the heating
coil sleeve. As soon as the correct heating coil sleeve has been detected, the welding pro-
cess can be started by pressing the green start button (to the right next to the display). The
manufacturer of the heating coil welding sleeve, the outside pipe diameter, the welding volt-
age and the remaining welding time are shown on the ROFUSE TURBO S display.
Before welding, the ROFUSE TURBO S compares the ohmic resistance of the heating coil weld-
ing sleeve with the resistance stored in the welding code. If the deviation is outside the tolerance
stored in the barcode, welding cannot be started and the error message "Resistance error" ap-
pears on the display.
After several welds, the transformer will get warm, depending on how long it has been
used. To prevent it from overheating and sustaining damage, before each weld, the
ROFUSE TURBO S calculates whether it can take place without an interruption. If the re-
quired power is too high for the transformer core temperature, the display will be highlight-
ed in red and a message will appear saying that the connected sleeve cannot currently be
welded and the ROFUSE TURBO S needs to cool down. It may be possible to weld a
sleeve with smaller dimensions anyway (depending on energy needs).
