Connecting/
disconnecting
the battery
Danger due to connecting or disconnecting the battery while the charger is con-
nected to the grid.
This can result in serious injury and damage to property due to short circuits and
arcs.

Establish a connection as follows:

arcs.

If using an on-board or system plug to connect the charging lead, steps 3 and 4
do not apply. Instead, connect charging lead to a suitable on-board socket.

WARNING!
Before connecting/disconnecting the battery, disconnect the charger from
the grid.
During operation, check that charging terminals and battery poles are pro-
perly connected.
Unplug the device from the grid
Plug charging lead into charger connection socket
Connect (+) charging terminal to positive pole (red) on battery
Connect (-) charging terminal to negative pole (black) on the battery, or to
vehicle body (e.g. engine block) in the case of vehicle power supplies.
WARNING!
When disconnecting, it is imperative to follow the above instructions in the
reverse order to avoid short circuits and arcs.
