Charging the battery

If­warm,­allow­the­battery­to­cool­be-
fore charging. Charge the battery
(16)­when­only­the­red­LED­on­the­charge­
level indicator (
1.­ If­necessary,­remove­the­batteries­(16)­
from the tool.
2.­ Slide­the­batteries­(16)­into­the­char-
ging slot of an­X 20 V Team­charger
from PARKSIDE.
3. Plug the charger into a socket.
4.­ Once­charging­is­complete,­disconnect­
the charger from the mains supply.
5.­ Remove­the­batteries­(16)­from­the­
charger.
Overview of the LED indicators on
the charger:
Green LED illuminated while battery not
inserted: Charger is ready.
Green LED lights up: Battery is charged.
Red LED lights up: Battery charging.
Red LED flashes: Overheated
Red and green LED flash:
Battery defective

Assembly

Always wear protective
gloves when working with
the chainsaw and employ only
original parts. Pull out the power
plug before doing any work on the
chainsaw itself – injury hazard!
Before putting the electric chain saw into
operation,­you­must:
adjust­the­saw­chain­tension,
pour­in­chain­oil,
charge and insert both batteries

check the function of the chain brake
and the automatic oil pump.

Switch off the device and remove
the battery before carrying out any
maintenance work.
1.­ Lay­the­saw­on­a­flat­surface.
2.­ Turn­the­fastening­bolt­(11)­anti-
clockwise (
sprocket­chain­wheel­covering­(13).
3.­ Spread­out­the­saw­chain­(6)­in­a­loop­
so that the cutting edges are aligned in
a clockwise direction. Use the symbol
below­the­chain­sprocket­(20)­as­a­gui-
de­to­align­of­the­saw­chain­(6).
4.­ Slide­the­saw­chain­(6)­into­the­bar­
guide groove. To mount the guide bar
(4),­raise­it­to­an­angle­of­approx.­
45 degrees. This will make it easier
to­replace­the­saw­chain­(6)­onto­the­
sprocket­(20).­
5.­ Place­the­chain­bar­(7)­and­saw­chain­
(6)­on­the­bar­bolts­(19).­When­the­pin­
(19a)­to­the­right­of­the­coach­screw­
(19)­sits­in­the­slotted­recess­on­the­
blade,­the­blade­is­placed­correctly.
It­is­normal­that­the­saw­chain­(6)­is­
slack.
6. Position the sprocket chain wheel cover-
ing­(13).­The­chain­tensioner­pin­(21)­
on­the­inside­of­the­sprocket­cover­(13)­
must be guided into the chain tension
pin­holder­(22).
7.­ Slightly­tighten­the­mounting­screw­(11)­
of the sprocket cover (
8.­ Pre-tension­the­saw­chain­(6)­by­turning­
the screw for the chain quick-tensioning
system­(12)­in­clockwise­direction.
9.­ Tighten­the­fastening­bolt­(11)­(
