Execute Auto Setup

 CAUTION
Do not stare into emitted light!
Risk of glare and irritation!
→ The device must be mounted in such a way that, even during operating no staring into the light
source is possible.
 NOTE
The Auto Setup should be carried out at the normal ambient temperature and with the device at
operating temperature.
1. Press on the Auto Setup button for at least 2 and to a maximum of 4 seconds.
a. Afterwards, the Auto Setup process will start, and 1 red target LED will light up.
2. Position the sensor using the red light beam to point to the target object which includes the code. Please
note the following:
a. The code on the target object must be within the permissible range of the sensor (5 to 60
centimeters).
b. Only one code should be within the field of view of the sensor during the Auto Setup process.
Auto Setup process will detect 1D-Codes ("Pharma Code" and "MSI" are not included) as well as
"Datamatrix ECC 200" and "QR Code".
c. If the surface of the object with the code is reflective, the alignment to the code should not be
perpendicular, but should deviate from the perpendicular by approx. 10° to 20°.
d. The target object with the code must not move during the Auto Setup process.
3. Then fix the sensor.
4. Press the Auto Setup button to confirm the positioning of the sensor.
a. Now, the sensor automatically sets the brightness, the focus, and the code type. Additionally, the
length of code-containing string is evaluated, which is used to define the length of the result string
send - if applicable - to e.g. a PLC via I/O-Link. The process will take up to 2 minutes. In doing so,
the sensor will flash several times.
b. As soon as the Auto Setup process is finished, the sensor will confirm this with a final flashing. For
this, there are the following flashing codes:
i. Light up for 3 seconds → Auto Setup was successful
ii. Six-times short flashing → Auto Setup failed
c. Finally, the sensor sets the Ready and the Waiting for Trigger bit (see chapter Data Interfaces).
