3.4 Switching the Instrument On

NOTE
For safety reasons, the instrument can only be
operated with the protection cap in place.
The instrument is
switched on by pressing
the [RESET] key. The last
sampling volume or
a residual, unprocessed
volume will appear in the display.

3.5 Setting the Sample Volume

The instrument can store
a total of 10 sample
volumes. The first seven
memory locations are
permanently set to the
preset values 10, 20, 50,
100, 200, 500 and 1000
liters in ascending order.
In addition, three
memory locations are available for entering
individual volume settings between 1 and
1999 liters.
The sample volume is
adjusted using the keys
[+] and [–]. A value one
greater than the value
shown in the display is
selected using the
[+] key and one less than
the value shown in the
display using the [–] key.
30
Individually selectable volumes can be entered
in three additional programmable positions
beyond the 1000 liter sample volume. Any indi-
vidual value can be entered by pressing the
[RESET] key together with the [+] or [–] key.
Briefly pressing the [+] or [–] key will increase
or decrease the value in the display by 1 liter.
If the key is pressed for longer than about
1 second, the volume will change at the rate of
approximately 100 liters
per second until the key
is released. Following
this, fine adjustment is
achieved by briefly
pressing the [+] or [–]
key until the required
volume is shown in the
display. The sample volume will be stored auto-
matically in the memory.

3.6 Starting the Instrument

After the required volume
has been set, the air sampler
is started by pressing the
[ON/OFF] key or using the
remote control. Starting the
instrument with the remote
control is possible only after
the instrument has been switched on, i.e.,
a sample volume is shown in the display.
