7. Check the operating range
• After mounting the scale unit and slider, be sure to
move the machine over its entire operating length to
check that the effective length of the scale and the
machine movement fall within the effective length.
8. Connect the lead cable wiring and connectors
• Secure the lead cables with the wiring clamps as
shown in the figure. Care should be taken when
securing the cables as it may be necessary to
provide the lead cables with some slack in
accordance with the scale movement.

Note
• Operate the machine carefully so that the mounting
surfaces of the slider and the machine do not contact
each other.
• Care should be taken as the scale will be damaged if the
machine movement exceeds the effective length of the scale.
