Automatic safety switch-off
If excessively high temperatures are reg-
istered inside the hob housing, the hob will
switch off automatically for security reasons.
Residual heat display
WARNING
Risk of burns!
During operation, the glass ceramic hob
and the parts which can be touched re-
main hot. You must take care in order
to avoid touching the heating elements.
Make sure that children aged 8 or
■
younger are not able to access the
glass ceramic hob if they are not su-
pervised.
The cooking zones remain hot even
■
after they have been switched off;
this is indicated by the fl ashing resid-
ual heat indicator 'K'.
Please note that the residual heat in-
■
dicators go out if there is a power cut
and may therefore no longer indicate
residual heat.
During cooking processes, the
heat from the pan transfers to
the glass ceramic surface of the
cooking zone and the cooking
zone will get hot. If the cooking
zone is switched off, the indicator '_' and the
indicator 'X' will flash alternately.
If the hob is switched off, the residual heat
indicator 'X' will continue to flash.
If the temperature of the glass ceramic sur-
face goes below a certain value (approx.
65 °C), the indicator 'X' will go out.
Operation
Locking function (child safety
function)
The locking function is intended to prevent
the following situations:
– unauthorised or unintentional changes be-
ing made to the settings of the active cook-
ing zones;
– unauthorised or unintentional switching off
of the hob.
For this reason, the locking function can also
be used as a type of child security.
Activating the locking function

• Touch the sensor 9.
The indicator 17 display will show Lo.
Deactivate the locking function
• Touch the sensor 9 once again for a few
seconds.
The Lo indicator will go out.
In order to activate the locking function,
the hob must not be switched on.
You can activate the locking function when
the hob is switched on and deactivate it when
the hob is switched off
If you have activated the locking function
when the hob has been switched off none
of the sensors are functional. In this case,
you can also not switch on the hob before
you have deactivated the locking function.
After a power cut the locking sensor is no
longer active, as the hob then automatically
returns to the basic settings.
