2. Safety
2.1
Intended use
The appliance is intended for domestic use. It can be used safe-
ly by untrained persons. The appliance can also be used in
non-domestic environments, e.g. in small businesses, as long
as it is used in the same way.
The controller may be used only for the following applications:
- Supplying energy by means of heat pumps and/or addi-
tional energy generators (oil/gas/electricity)
- DHW heating for DHW cylinders.
- Heating or cooling operation for direct circuits and/or
mixer circuits.
2.2 General safety instructions
Observe the following safety instructions and regulations.
- Read these instructions carefully before you start making
settings on the heat pump.
- Modifications and changes to the appliance are not per-
missible. Work on the appliance (repairs, alterations) may
be carried out only by the manufacturer or by bodies au-
thorised by the manufacturer.
- Before any work on plug-in strips or electrical connections
(wiring), all mains fuses/MCBs on the building services sys-
tem must be removed/switched off. The building services
system consists of the controller, the auxiliary modules
and the components connected to the controller (energy
generators, pumps, high limit safety cut-outs etc.).
- Persons and electrically conductive materials must not
touch the plug-in strips, any wires connected to them or
any unconnected wires, as the plug-in strips may carry a
voltage (risk of contact with mains electricity).
- The controller, auxiliary modules, plug-in strips and con-
necting cables on the controller may be supplied with
voltage through external switching (safety equipment
etc.) even if the controller is not connected or there is no
mains power supply to the controller.
- Commissioning and maintenance of the appliance may be
carried out only by personnel authorised by us.
- The equipment may be installed and wired up only by a
contractor qualified in accordance with local regulations.
- With the controller, various protective functions for the
heat pump can be enabled. The controller is not, however,
certified as a safety device. Protection from harm caused
by failure of or damage to the heat pump must therefore
be matched to local regulations (e.g. with additional ex-
ternal switching for the safety devices being used). After
upgrades or updates to the controller software, re-check
all of the heat pump functions set by parameters.
