3.3 Product safety
3.3.1 Intended use
This measuring device is intended for determining the material
moisture content in wood and building materials. The displayed va-
lue in % refers to the dry mass. Example: 1 kg of material contains
500 g of water = 100 % relative material moisture. An additional
sensor that can be folded out to the side determines the ambient
temperature and the relative humidity and calculates the resulting
dew point temperature.
3.3.2 Foreseeable misuse – NOT PERMITTED –
• This device must not be used in areas with a danger of explosi-
on.
• Local operating restrictions, e.g., in hospitals, in aircraft, at filling
stations, or in the vicinity of persons with pacemakers, must be
observed. There is a possibility of dangerous interference with or
disturbance of electronic devices.
• The measurement accuracy may be affected if used near high
voltages or under strong alternating electromagnetic fields.
Failure to comply with one of these warnings could result in death,
serious health impairments and material damage. Due to the
measuring method, the display value is influenced by both water
and metal. Existing metal structures (even if not visible) can cause
incorrect measured values! Observe the basic measurement prin-
ciples.
