m WARNING!
The device and the packaging material are not
children's toys! Do not let children play with plas-
tic bags, films or small parts! There is a danger of
choking or suffocating!

Layout
m Warning!
Always pull out the mains plug before carrying out ad-
justments on the device.
Fitting the aluminium pipe connection (Fig. 3 + 4)
1.
Screw the threaded connection G 3/4" (B) onto the
pressure connection (4). (fig. 3)
2.
Screw the first aluminium pipe connection (C) onto
the threaded connection G 3/4" (B). (fig. 3)
3.
Now attach the second aluminium pipe connec-
tion (C) to the first. (Fig.4)
4.
Screw the hook (E) onto the second aluminium
pipe connection (C). (Fig.4)
5.
Finally, connect the flexible connector (D) to the
hook (E). (Fig.4)
Fitting the float switch (Fig. 1 + 5)
• The float switch (6) can be latched into place (Fig. 5)
or freely suspended (Fig. 1). The freely suspended
float switch (6) (Fig. 1) is used to prevent the pump
from running dry and to prevent possible damage.
The latched in float switch (6) (Fig. 5) allows pump-
ing down to the height of the pump base. Attention!
Always keep an eye on the pump when the float
switch (6) is engaged so that you can switch it off
before it runs dry.
• Hang the float switch (6) upright in the clip (7) to fas-
ten it in place.
• Check that the pump is standing stably on the shaft
floor or is securely suspended.
• Check that the hose has been properly attached.
• Ensure that the pump does not run dry (Attention!
Set float switch correctly!).
• Make sure that the electrical connection is 230 V ~
/ 50 Hz.
• Check the proper condition of the mains socket and
that it has an appropriate fuse (min. 6A). Insert the
mains plug into the mains socket and the pump is
ready for operation.
• Make sure that moisture or water cannot reach the
mains power connection. There is a danger of elec-
tric shock.
10. Start up
m ATTENTION!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
Attaching the pump to a rainwater barrel
The pump is suspended in the rainwater barrel by
means of the hanging hook (1).
Switching on the pump
m Attention!
The pump starts if the float switch is floating or is latched
on as soon as the pump is connected to the mains.
Check the function of the float switch
• The float switch (6) must be positioned in such a
way that the switching point height "On" and the
switching point height "Off" can be reached easily
and with little effort.
• Check this by placing the pump in a container filled
with water and carefully lifting the float switch (6) by
hand and then lowering it again.
In doing so, you can see whether the pump switches
on or off. Also make sure that the distance between
the float switch and the float switch clip (7) is not too
small. If the distance is too small, proper functioning
is not guaranteed.
• When adjusting, make sure that the float switch (6)
does not touch the floor before the pump is switched
off. Attention! Danger of dry-running and dam-
age to the device.
Alternative use
You can convert the rain barrel pump into a submersi-
ble pump in just a few steps.
• Remove the complete aluminium pipe connection (3).
• Remove the threaded connection G 3/4" (B) from the
pressure connection (4).
• Now screw the 1" connection adapter (F) onto the
pressure connection (4).
• Now you can connect 1" hoses directly to the pump
as usual.
11. Electrical connection
The electrical motor installed is connected and ready
for operation. The connection complies with the appli-
cable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the exten-
sion cable used must also comply with these regulations.
