Plumbing connection
Before making the plumbing connection, you must arrange for the system to be
cleaned thoroughly to eliminate any residue or dirt that could compromise the
proper operation of the water heater.
Connect the water heater inlet and outlet to resistant pipes or pipefittings, as well as
to the operating pressure, the temperature of the hot water that could at times reach
well over 85°C. We advise against the use of materials that cannot withstand such high
temperatures.
If the safety valve outlet is not placed immediately above the overflow funnel, then it
should be connected to a pipe with a continuous slope in a site protected against frost
in the presence of particularly hard waters, there will be a considerable and rapid
formation of limescale inside the appliance, with a consequent loss in efficiency and
damage to the electric heating element.
Electrical connection
For greater safety, have qualified personnel carry out a careful inspection of the electrical
system, ensuring it complies with the applicable norms in force, because the appliance
manufacturer will not be held responsible for any damage caused by the lack of earthing
of the system or for faults in the electricity supply.
See warning no. 24 - Check that the system is suitable for the maximum power

absorbed by the water heater (please refer to the data plate) and that the cross-
section of the electrical connection cables is suitable, and no less than 2.5 mm
The temperature limiter may have intervened if the appliance has been exposed to
temperatures below -15°C during transport. If this is the case, unscrew the cover and
press button S (fig. 5, 6 and 7).
The power supply cable should be threaded along the special passage recessed into
the rear of the appliance until it reaches the terminal board (fig. 8).
To disconnect the appliance from the mains, use a bipolar switch in compliance with
the applicable regulations in force (contact opening min. 3 mm, even better if fitted with
a fuse).
The appliance must be earthed and the earth wire (yellow-green in colour and longer
than the others) must be connected to the terminal marked with the symbol
See warning no. 11
!
The use of multiplugs, extensions or adaptors is strictly prohibited.
It is strictly forbidden to use the piping from the plumbing, heating and gas
systems for the appliance earthing connection.
The appliance is not protected against the effects caused by lightning.
Before turning the appliance on, make sure the supply voltage complies with the value
stated on the appliance data plate and that the appliance itself is filled with water.
The appliance should be connected to the electricity mains using a rigid pipe or
a cable designed for permanent installation.
Depending on the type of installation in your home, the appliance can be connected
in the following ways:
Variant A, fig. 13: when the cheap rate is not used, do not remove the jumper between
L1 and L1T.
Variant B, fig. 14: the timer output (commutated by the electricity board) should be
connected to L1 and L1T.
Variant C, fig. 15: connect the commutated phase L1T (connection for cheap rate
current) to terminal L1T.
Variant D, fig. 16: connect the commutated phase L1 to terminals L1 and L1T. Note:
during the high rate period, a maximum of 4kW (3kW for mod. 50) is available for the
fast heating.
