The cause of many problems with teleservice is an incorrect software configuration or
telephone connection. Troubleshooting is supported by functions of the operating
system and the connected modem as well as by specific error messages.

Troubleshooting
Operating system:
With the 32-bit Windows operating systems, it is possible to record the
establishment of the connection in a log file.
Start the Control Panel and select "Telephone and Modem Options". Under
"Modems > Properties", check the option "Record log file". Now, the next dialing
operation is recorded in a file in the Windows folder. The log file can be used for
finding the configuration faults and eliminating them by making appropriate
changes.
Telephone connection:
The telephone connection can be checked easily via the speaker (the volume of
which can be set via AT commands). You can check if a free line signal is detected
in the telephone line, if the addressed modem accepts the call or if the line is
busy.
The compatibility of the communication clients must be checked according to the
types and media listed in
Modem:
The modem connected and switched on at the PC side is detected by the
Windows operating system and entered in the Control Panel. In the control
software VPlus, you can select this modem at the menu "Edit > Settings".
If the required modem is not available in the control software VPlus, it was
switched on or connected after the operating system was started. In this case,
restart the computer.
Control software VPlus:
The control software VPlus can be configured via the menu "Edit > Settings".
The connection to the frequency inverter via a modem is parameterized via "Find"
and "Interface" in VPlus.
The VPlus settings are to be compared to the plant parameters. For each
individual device, address 1 or the search in an address range is to be selected.
For the further steps, refer to the corresponding operating instructions and the
online help function of the VPlus control software. Depending on the settings, it
will take some time until VPlus finds the frequency inverter.
Frequency inverter:
The frequency inverter is to be connected to the modem according to the
description in chapter 4.1.
The order for establishing the connection to the plant is to be observed.
The modem included in the scope of supply of the teleservice kit is configured,
depending on the order specifications, for teleservice of frequency inverters of the
ACT/ACU or VCB series. For this reason, the modem can only be used on the
plant side with frequency inverters of one device series.
If the modem on the plant side is to be used for a device series which deviates
from the modem configuration, the factory configuration must be changed. In the
annex, you will find a description on how to configure the modem.
The frequency inverters of the ACT/ACU and VCB device series can be equipped
with different extension boards or extension modules for communication with an
overriding controller.
