MAINTENANCE
5.1 General
DANGER:
Do not work with and/or at any operating mower,
1
ensure drive is disconnected and engine is
stopped (prevent unwanted engine restart e.g.
through removing of key)!
Adequately support a lifted mower!
2
the cock of the wheel cylinders!

5.1.1
Attaching elements
Regularly check all attaching elements (bolts, nuts, etc.)
1
are tightened adequately.
Regularly check that all bolts and nuts are tightened
2
firmly, especially the bolts securing the lid of the mow-
ing unit (see attention above). The torque table of sec-
tion 5.9 gives the applicable standard torque values.
Not standard torques can be found in IPL, in special
cases they are published through service bulletins, etc.
(ask your dealer!).
5.1.2
Space between skid saucers and drum
skirt
Keep the space between skid saucers and drum skirt clean,
this in order to avoid sticking of the blades and/or
imbalance.
5.2 Adjusting the float springs and
bleeding the system
Ground pressure is compensated by two float spring units
(see illustration).
Attention:
Bleeding the system will be necessary if the major
portion of the slotted hole at the left hand cylinder at-
tachment is visible above the pin with the machine to-
tally lowered.
Place mower on level ground.
1
Set mower to working position (see 2.3).
2
Bleeding the hydraulic system:
3
a) Run the wheel cylinders several times in and out,
then raise the machine to its highest position.
b) Release the hose coupling of the left hand cylinder
one turn until the hydraulic oil emerges without bub-
bles. Tighten the hose coupling again.
c) Release the hose coupling of the right hand cylinder
one turn until the hydraulic oil emerges without bub-
bles. Tighten the hose coupling again.
d) Run the wheel cylinders several times in and out and
check that the system is bled correctly.
Use the spindle located on the drawbar and the nuts to
4
adjust the desired minimum cutting height (see 3.1).
Check the ground pressure: it should be as low as possi-
5
ble, but strong enough to prevent the machine loosing its
contact with the ground during field work. There should
