Make sure that the cassette to be used has
its record
protection
tab in place before
loading it into the cassette holder. When
the
AUTO
CAL
button
is pressed,
the
AUTO
indicator begins blinking while the
signals are being recorded on and replayed
from the tape. After about 14 — 16 seconds,
the AUTO
indicator lights continuously to
show that: auto calibration is complete; the
tape ts then rewound to the position where
the AUTO CAL button was pressed and the
deck enters the record-pause mode. Some
tapes are not within the range in which
calibration is possible; if auto calibration has
not been performed correctly, the AUTO
indicator turns off and the REF indicator
lights to show that the reference values of
bias, equalization and signal level for that
type of tape have been set. After this the
tape is rewound
to the point where the
AUTO
CAL button was pressed and the
deck enters the stop mode.
Calibration Memory
The V-900X has three calibration memories,
one for each type of tape (Normal, CrO2
and Metal). When calibration values for a
particular tape have been set through AUTO
CAL
operation, they can
be stored in
memory
by pressing the WRITE
button
(MEMO
indicator
lights).
If you
store
the calibration values for the tapes you use
most frequently
in memory, you do not
have
to
repeat
calibration
for each

and the calibration values for that type of
tape are read from the calibration memory.
Note: If the deck's power supply cord Is
unplugged
from
the AC outlet or
the power
is not switched
on for
more
than
a few days, the data
held
in memory
will be lost and
recalibration will be necessary.
Additional Calibration
In addition to the three memories, one for
each type of tape, there is another which
holds the calibration data for the tape be-
ing used at present. This can be changed
by performing
AUTO
CAL
for any tape
without
disturbing
the
calibration
data
held in the other memories.
In this case,
do not press the WRITE button so that the
data is not stored
in one of the three
memories.
Note: After perfroming calibration for an
additional tape, the calibration values
for this tape will be lost if you press
the
READ
button;
the
MEMO
indicator will turn on. In this case,
the calibration values for the type of
tape in the cassette holder will be
used
after
being
called
up
from
memory. These will be cleared and
replaced by the reference values for
this type of tape if the REFERENCE
button ts pressed,

Mémorisation de !'étalonnage automatique
La V-900X
posséde trois mémoires, |'une

que, vous pouvez les mettre en mémoire en

mémoire
I'étalonnage des bandes que vous
utilisez le plus fréquemment, vous n'aurez
pas besoin de répéter les opérations d'étalon-
nage a chaque fois. Aprés avois chargé une
cassette
appuyez
sur
la touche
READ
(I'indicateur MEMO s'allume) et lesd onnées
d'étalonnage
pour ce type de' bande sont
lues dans Ja mémoire.
Remarque: Si le cordon
d'alimentation de
!'appareil reste débranché ou si
vous ne mettez pas ta platine en
marche pendant plusieurs jours,
les connées seront effacées de la
mémoire
et vous
devrez repro-
céder aun nouvel étalonnage.
Etalonnage supplémentaire
Outre les trois mémoires mentionreées ci-
dessus,
la platine
comporte
aussi une
mémoire qui garde tes données d'étal onnage
de la bande dont vous vous servez. Vous
pouvez ainsi effectuer un étalonnage auto-
matique pour chaque bande sans perturber
les données d'étalonnage qui sont gar dées en
mémoire. Dans ce cas, n'appuyez pas sur la
touche
WRITE
afin
que les donrsées ne
soient
pas stockées
dans
l'une des trois
mémoires,
Remarque: Aprés avoir effectué un étalon-
nage pour
une
bande
supplé-
mentaire,
vous
perdrez
les
données
étalonnées
s# vous
appuyez sur la touche READ:
