B. Determining/Checking the Bypass Setting
Hot Drinks Machine:
Factory setting "2"
The factory-set bypass setting at Position "2" can be used with-
out any changes over a very broad carbonate hardness range.
Adjustment of the bypass setting may be necessary only in ex-
tremely soft or hard water areas or when used upstream of combi
steamers/ovens. Bypass setting see Table 1.
Combi steamers/ovens and ice-cube machines:
Setting "1"
It is logical to prepare water upstream of combi steamers/ovens
if the local carbonate hardness is 5°KH or higher. Here, a bypass
setting of "1" should be used. A setting of "0" is possible with ap-
pliances very sensitive to scale. Bypass setting see Table 2.
Change to the bypass setting on the filter head:
To change the bypass presetting on the filter head, turn the rotary button to the
right or left. Please check for correct locking of the new bypass setting!
C. Determining the Filter Capacity
On the basis of the local carbonate hardness and the bypass setting necessary
for this, the typical filter capacity for use upstream of hot drinks machines can be
found in Table 1 and for use upstream of combi steamers/ovens and ice cube ma-
chines in Table 2.

sation System be selected in such a way that an exchange is made at regular in-
tervals of 6 months, but after 12 months at the most.
IMPORTANT: Install Bestmax filter cartridges only in correctly installed original
water+more by BWT filter heads! Do not exert any force! Otherwise the guarantee
for the systems will be invalid!
Installing and Changing a Used Bestmax Filter Cartridge
Remove from the filter head from right to left.
While doing this, fold the filter head forwards,
depending on the installed position.
Dispose of the used Bestmax filter cartridge
with domestic waste.
Installing a new Bestmax filter cartridge:
Remove the filter cartridge from the packag-
ing and check for damage.
Remove the hygiene cap from the filter car-
tridge.
Screw the filter cartridge into the filter head
from left to right.
