l) DCF time signal reception
The base unit automatically synchronizes the time and date, when it is within
the range of the DCF77 radio signal (within a radius of about 1500 km round
Frankfurt on the Main). During the normal operation, the unit searches for
reception signals at every full hour, and after that the current time and date will
be set. The signal strength of the DCF77 radio signal is shown on the display,
see below.
When the base unit receives a valid DCF signal, the manual time/date setting
is replaced by the automatic setting via the radio signal.
The icon indicating the DCF reception starts flashing, when the base unit
receives a DCF77 signal. Normally, it lasts between 2 and 10 minutes,
depending on the signal strength, until the radio signal is completely received
and the time/date is displayed.
To disable the evaluation of DCF signal reception (for manual time/date
setting), simultaneously press the "MODE" and " " buttons until the icon for
DCF signal reception disappears.
To deactivate the DCF signal reception, press the "MODE" and " " buttons at
the same time until the icon for DCF signal reception appears again. The base
unit will automatically search for the DCF signal. As mentioned above, it may
take between 2 and 10 minutes until the DCF time is displayed.

Please note:
DCF signal reception can be affected by many factors. To achieve
the best reception, place the base unit away from metal objects
(e. g. heaters, metal doors) and electrical appliances (e. g. TV set,
computer, kitchen equipment).
