Expanding the KVM matrix system by cascading
Cascading a matrix switch
Cascading allows you to increase the number of target computers to be connected.
In a cascade, a slave central module is connected to the dynamic ports of a master
central module. These ports must be configured as ports for the connection of target
modules.
You can connect either target modules or further slave central modules (up to 2 cas-
cade levels) to the slave central module.
Configuration and highlighting of port assignment
By default, the matrix switch auto-detects the modules connected to the ports and
configures the ports accordingly.
NOTE:
When connecting a user module or a target module, the ports are auto-con-
figured. In case of a cascade, note or change the port mode.
By default, the ports of the different variants of the ControlCenter-Compact series are
configured to connect both master and slave matrix switches:

ControlCenter-Compact-32C
ControlCenter-Compact-48C
