with a fall arrest harness (conformity with EN 362) as a fall arrest system (conformity with EN 363).
Information about material available on equipment marking. The integrated energy absorbing lan-
yard should not be used beyond its limits or for any purpose other than its own.
USE
• The manyard must only be connected by the ends intended for this purpose.
• In the case of a Y-shaped lanyard, connect the anchorage point of your harness in conformity
to EN 361, then connect the ends B and B' to the structural anchor.
• The energy absorber alone is used in combination with connectors and / or a EN 354 lanyard
to form a fall arrester lanyard of at most 2m.
• Do not tie a knot in the manyard.
• Protect the lanyard from sharp edges, which could damage it in case of a fall.
• Do not join two lanyards together.
• Do not use a lanyard without an energy absorber as a fall arrest system.
• The MAXIMUM length from the anchorage point to the fall arrest attachment point of the
harness must NEVER exceed 2 metres.
• Reduce the lanyard's slack as much as possible.
• When the energy absorber is combined with the lanyard and the length of both (lanyard +
absorber) is less than 2 metres, the length must never be modified with other connection
elements.
• Do not use the lanyard as a service rope or a handling rope.
• During use, regularly check the adjusting and/or attaching elements.
• Reduce the risk of falls from high places and the distance of the possible fall to a minimum.
When using an energy absorbing lanyard, check before use that there will be sufficient clearance
in the event of a fall.
• When adjusting the length of a lanyard to avoid the risk of falling, it is recommended to the
user not to move in an area where there is a risk of falling.
CHECKING
Before each use, a thorough visual inspection should be made in order to verify the PPE's integrity,
as well as the integrity of any other equipment that may be used with it (ex: harness...). The neces-
sary precautions must be taken for making a rescue in complete safety. In case of a problem with
the product, contact the manufacturer or his representative. If you have doubts about the safety of
the product or if the product has been used to stop a fall, it is essential for your safety that the PPE
be withdrawn from use and returned to the manufacturer or to a qualified repair centre for verifica-
tion or destruction. Never try to modify or repair a PPE yourself. Only the manufacturer or the repair
centre is qualified to make repairs. After inspection, the centre will provide written authorization if
the PPE may be reused.
Check the condition of the manyard:
• For any breakage or tearing in the fibres
• For any warping of the thimbles
• The integrity of the splices
• For any deterioration (tearing, wear, burning, etc) of the cord or strap.
• For any warping or wear on the connectors
• The operation of the connectors
• The condition of the metallic elements.
• Control of the legibility of the marking
Check the condition of the energy absorber:
a) for a standard energy absorbing lanyard
• For any deterioration (tearing, wear, burning, etc) of the textile loops.
• For any deterioration (tearing) of the protective cover.
b) for the Manyard, energy absorbing lanyard
• check the fall indicator
