MAINTENANCE, UPDATING AND TESTING
21.1
Maintenance
The device is largely maintenance-free. Only the battery should be replaced every
approximately 3 years (see section 21.2). Depending on the application, we recommend
carrying out a visual inspection at regular intervals (such as twice a year). Check all
connected cables for damage, and all connectors on peripheral devices for tight fit.
Maintenance of connected analog or digital sensors is also required at appropriate
regular intervals. Check them for foreign bodies, metal splinters, etc. to avoid impairment
of measurements. We recommend calibrating with legally verified weights at regular
intervals.
You can perform a function check via the Service Mode menu; see section 21.5,
page 208.
Cleaning
The protection film on the device's keyboard is resistant to acetone, trichloroethylene,
alcohol, ether, nitric acid (20 %), hexane, sulfuric acid (20 %) and all-purpose cleaners.
Notice
To avoid damaging the device, do not use concentrated acids or alkalis, solvents, pure
alcohol, cleaning agents containing chlorine or salt.
Use a clean, soft cloth sprayed with a standard commercially available dish-washing or
glass-cleaning liquid. We advise not spraying the cleaner directly onto the device. If you
use cleaning agents containing acids, alkalis or alcohol, you must clean the device
afterward with clear water.
21.2
Replacing the battery

Parts of the power supply (only versions for 110 ... 240 V
voltages during operation!
Make sure that power is disconnected from the weighing terminal before carrying out
maintenance work.
