OPERATION
Hold the sander in front and away from you, keeping
■
it clear of the workpiece. Start sander and let the
motor build to its maximum speed, then gradually
lower the sander onto the workpiece. Move the
sander slowly across the workpiece using small
circular motions.
Do not force. The weight of the unit supplies adequate
■
pressure, so let the sanding disc and sander do
the work. Applying additional pressure only slows the
motor, rapidly wears sanding disc and greatly reduces
sander speed. Excessive pressure will overload the
motor causing possible damage from motor
overheating and can result in inferior work. Any finish
or resin on wood may soften from the frictional heat.
Do not allow sanding on one spot too long as the
■
sander's rapid action may remove too much material,
making the surface uneven.
Extended periods of sanding may tend to overheat
■
the motor. If this occurs, turn sander off and wait until
sanding disc comes to a complete stop, then remove
it from workpiece. Remove your hand from vent area,
remove sanding disc, then with your hand removed
from vent area, turn sander on and run it free without
a load to cool motor.
For detail sanding such as corners and crevices,
■
use the tip of the sanding pad with small back and
forth motions, as shown in Fig. 4.
WARNING
Do not contact the pad with your hands during
operation when the RO pad is used,the no load
speed is very high which may cause injuries.
CHANGING THE BASE PADS (1/3 SHEET,
RANDOM ORBIT & TRIANGULAR PAD) (Fig. 6)
For safety, ensure your sander is unplugged.

Remove the sanding sheet from the base. Undo the
■
allen screws on the base, using the hex key (2)
provided.
Once all 4 screws have been removed, remove
■
the base.
When fitting the new base, place the base up to the
■
sander and insert the first screw (do not tighten).
Insert the remaining 3 screws, then tighten all
■
4 screws. Tighten up the allen screws opposite to
each other. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN
Place the desired sanding paper on to the base and
■
continue to work.

INSTALLING SANDPAPER
Inspect sandpaper before installing. DO NOT use if
broken of defective.
INSTALLING ADHESIVE (HOOK & LOOP) SANDPAPER
- FOR ALL BASE PADS (Fig. 7)
Unplug the sander.
■
Align holes in hook and loop sanding paper with holes
■
in pad, then carefully press fuzzy side of sanding disc
against pad as tighly as possible.
Note: Hook and loop sanding paper can be reused
for the life of the sanding abrasive. It is recommended
that you keep the sanding paper clean to provide
best adhesion. Clean occasionally by brushing lightly
with a small brush.
INSTALLING NON-ADHESIVE SANDPAPER -
1/3 SHEET PAD ONLY (Fig. 8)
Unplug your sander.
■
If replacing sandpaper, remove old sandpaper.
■
To remove paper, release paper clamp by lifting up
on lever, and disengaging it from the tab, and
allowing the lever to lower.
Insert end of new 1/3 sheet sandpaper approximately
■
20 mm under the paper clamp.
Note: 20 mm clamping of sandpaper is necessary for
multi-sheet stacking of paper.
Lift up on lever and lock into place. Apply downward
■
pressure to conform sandpaper to plate.
Wrap sandpaper around cushion. Lift lever on
■
opposite end of sander and insert loose end of
sandpaper under paper clamp. Fit sandpaper tight
against cushion.
Lift up on lever and lock into place.
■
Multiple sheets of sandpaper can be installed at one
■
time for convenience.
PAPER PUNCH (Fig. 9)
A paper punch template has been supplied with your
sander for aligning and punching holes in sandpaper.
The punched holes must align with the holes in the
sander cushion.
Install sandpaper on your sander.
■
Align sander cushion over the paper punch.
■
Push down on sander
■
